Stone hill International School (SIS) is a day and boarding school for boys and girls aged 3-18. It was established in 2008 to address the educational needs of the children of Bangalore’s senior leadership global community. The school is accredited by the Council of International Schools (CIS) and New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC), and is also a fully-authorized International Baccalaureate (IB) school. SIS is a member of the Australian Boarding Schools Association (ABSA) and the International Schools Activity Conference India (ISACI) sports league.
Faculty
Our faculties are highly educated, caring, competent experienced teachers from many different countries, cultures, and nationalities. They are IB trained global educators; many are IB examiners and workshop leaders with invaluable experience. Infrastructure
Sited on an expansive, countryside 34-acre lush green campus, near the International Airport, it offers room to pursue sporting activities and space to explore and discover. It is built on a safe, green site, and adjoins a 240 acre equestrian facility.
Besides state-of-the art classrooms, the world-class facilities include a 25 meter heated pool, 3 tennis courts, synthetic basketball/volleyball court, 400 meter grass track , 3 playing fields, synthetic turf football field, cricket pitch, and climbing wall. SIS also prides itself on modern boarding houses and a fully equipped cafeteria that serves nutritious, healthy meals.
Sports
Equestrian, swimming, tennis, basketball, volleyball, football, cricket and athletics, with access to the Embassy International Riding School. Physical Education (PE) at Stonehill is an integral part of our curricula. In addition to health and fitness, we attach equal importance to developing skills, learning to work in teams, building leadership and personal growth, critical thinking and problem solving. All three IB programmes (PYP, MYP and DP) promote balanced individual development and our PE course enables it.
Stonehill students compete regularly with teams from other schools in Bangalore, India, and Asia through our extracurricular and ISACI sports programmes. Swimming, tennis, equestrian sports, basketball, football (or soccer, if you prefer), volleyball, and cricket are just a few of our sports offerings.
Boarding
Boarding at SIS is very much in tune with the 21st Century life with a family atmosphere in the houses. Three modern boarding facilities, staffed by an experienced and professional full-time house parents, cater for boys and girls From grades 4-12.
There are spacious twin and quad sharing rooms, fully air conditioned with en suite bathrooms, high speed internet, a common lounge, study center, cafeteria with in-house catering team, fitness center, and 24- hour medical center with a live-in nurse. The cafeteria offers nutritious vegetarian and non-vegetarian meals. SIS offers full-time, weekly, and flexi-boarding options.
